Continuation of Matthieu's trip around the World, from the Bering Straits towards Russia
On August 1st, Matthieu crossed the mythical Bering Straits and the international date line aboard his helicopter Kompress CH7 !
However after more than a 600 km flight in Russia he landed in the tundra in the north of the Tchoukotka district and he could not take off again due to a maintenance part that unfortunately he had not with him ...
After a day and a half far from any village, in an impracticable and hostile environment, Matthieu was eventually recovered by a Russian MI-8 helicopter.
Lots of thanks to the Russian recovery team for its efficiency.
The helicopter lead him afterwards to the city of Anadyr the Tchoukotka district administrative capital, 450 km southwards. He remained there nearly a month before being taken by a 767 Boeing regular flight to Moscow where he took a 320A flight to Rome and Turin.

Congratulations Matthieu for this great adventure! Having left on July 11th for more than 15 500 km aboard his Kompress, having returned on August 30th by a 320A flight, Matthieu's World Tour was almost completed by air, notwithstanding the Turin-Barcelonnette journey by car ;)
